BMW To Recall 350,000 units
BMW has claimed it will recall close to 350,000 luxury cars across the world due to a problem with brakes. This problem has been adressed by the company in their last statement.
The German company claimed the recall was caused by a fault on the power-braking system but the cars were not dangerous.
The recall impacts V8 and V12 engine cars within the BMW 5, 6 and 7 ranges, and Rolls-Royce - a BMW subsidiary - built between July 2001 and November 2009.
From the total, 11,427 vehicles - which include 905 Rolls-Royces - are in the uk, and 198,000 in the USA.
Internationally, 348,000 BMWs are affected, including further 5,800 Rolls-Royces.
'Voluntary' option
"In the damaged cars, a leak may build up in the power braking device, possibly causing a vacuum damage and consequent decrease in power braking assistance," said the organization in a declaration.
Nonetheless, mechanical braking continues to be available to slow and stop the vehicle, and there were no reported mishaps or injuries.
